What’s on around Cornwall – summer 2018

Looking forward to your holiday in Cornwall this summer? Here are just some of our favourite events taking place across the county.

International Powerboat Race: 29th June – 1st July

A weekend full of thrills and spills! Watch as the marathon boats zoom off, racing from Falmouth out to the Eddystone, down to Plymouth and back to Falmouth – twice. You’ll also be able to watch the smaller offshore boats racing in Falmouth Bay.

Stithians Show: 16th July

With a variety of demonstrations, animals and displays to see, as well as many stalls and a wide range of food and drink to enjoy, there’s something for everyone at Stithians Show. A truly traditional taste of rural life.

Charlestown Regatta Week: 21st – 27th July

A week filled with fun and entertainment. Enjoy live music, water sports, raft races, competitions, the Grand Carnival and flora dance procession and more! As one of the most picturesque villages in Cornwall, a trip to the Charlestown Regatta is a must.

Port Eliot Festival: 26th – 29th July

Enjoy a magical weekend at a festival unlike any other. Explore the estate, swim in the estuary, canoe on the river, rock out at the Park Stage, attend an intimate gig in the church, or even watch a cooking demo. However you choose to spend your time at this fantastic event, there’s plenty to see and do.

Leopallooza: 27th – 29th July

This multi award-winning, grass roots music festival is hidden in a tree-filled valley, just a few miles from the sea. Celebrating new, up-and-coming and established bands, artists and DJs, enjoy three days of fantastic entertainment.

Zestifal: 28th – 29th July

Ready to try your hand at something new? Why not have a go at Pilates, tennis, archery or triathlon? During Zestifal week the town is transformed into a venue for a whole host of activities, allowing the public to have a go at a range of sports for free.

Looe Carnival Week: 30th July – 4th August

Seven days filled with events, activities and music, the Looe Carnival offers something for everyone with events that cater for all ages and interests.

Boardmasters: 8th – 12th August

One of the most popular festivals in Cornwall, Boardmasters promises five epic days of music, surf and beach lifestyle – all whilst enjoying the stunning backdrop of the Cornish coastline. This year’s line-up includes Catfish and the Bottlemen, George Ezra, Years and Years, as well as many more.

Falmouth Week: 10th – 19th August

The largest sailing regatta in the south west – Falmouth Week sees more than 450 yachts racing over eight days, whilst on land a lively programme of shore side events offers something for everyone. For those staying in or around Falmouth, this is a truly must visit event.

Fowey Regatta Week: 19th – 25th August

One of Britain’s top sailing events, the Fowey regatta sees sailing boats of all shapes and sizes racing in the river and out in the bay, whilst on land the Carnival, live music and fireworks display will keep the whole family entertained.

Cornwall Pride: 25th August

Now in its 11th year, Cornwall Pride will kick off with a colourful parade which will make its way through the streets of Newquay. The family-friendly Rainbow Fest will take place in the afternoon offering lots to see and do, whilst the Moonbow Party in the evening promises plenty of live music and entertainment!
